My Story
The Injury That Built This Practice
In 2014, I tore my UCL and fractured my elbow at the Continental Games in Guadalajara, Mexico — during a fight against Argentina. My next fight was the following day, against Mexico, for gold. In her hometown. I lost a split decision.
I had taken a leave of absence from PT school that year to pursue boxing full-time. The World Championships in South Korea were six weeks away.
I went anyway.
I came home empty-handed. I had surgery immediately and returned to school. And that's when I ran into something I wasn't prepared for — I could return to regular life, but I couldn't box. Chronic pain and fear held me back for years. I couldn't fully extend my elbow with enough force to punch. I was terrified to hyperextend my arm. Nobody really knew how to help me get back to boxing.
That gap — between 'medically cleared' and 'actually back' — is where Fighter Physio was born.
I started working with boxers because I understood the demands of the sport, not just physically but mentally. The fear of re-injury. The identity wrapped up in your sport. The difference between surviving a session and performing in one. Over time, that mission expanded — because that gap exists for every athlete trying to reach a goal that was derailed by an injury.
"I couldn't find the PT who understood what it meant to be an athlete. So I became her."
Being cleared isn't the same as being ready. Pain-free isn't the same as performing. And the fear of re-injury can be just as debilitating as the injury itself. I built this practice to close that gap — for fighters, for runners, for lifters, for anyone whose sport is part of who they are.

Outside the Clinic
I'm a 2014 64kg Women's National Champion, a former Team USA PT at the 2021 Men's World Championships in Belgrade and the 2023 Youth Brandenburg Cup in Germany. I earned my DPT from URI in 2017, hold an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification, and am certified in concussion management.
Outside the clinic, I ran my first half marathon in 2026 and I'm training for a full in 2027. I train at Burn Community in Warwick, RI — alongside the same kind of motivated, goal-driven people I treat every day. At home, my husband Carter and our dog Miyagi make up the rest of the corner team.
